Large Gaetano Sciolari vintage glass tubes & brass chandelier, 1970’s
ca, Italy. The quality frame has a lot of detail creating a great decorative
effect. Twelve arms with glass removable shades are attached to the centre
column. Each arm finishes in a brass ring that secures the shade in place and elegantly marks the change of texture of the glass shade
from clear to frosted. A glass cylinder covers the centre column and completes the design. The frame is a warm combination of satin brass with
polished brass, creating lots of texture. The glass cylinders are cleverly frosted at the
bottom to cover the light bulbs and diffuse the light. Carries twelve standard small screw light bulbs up to 40 Watts each. The
original makers label is inside the top cylinder. A decorative rosette finishes
the chandelier at the top of the chain. All the glass cylinders are in
perfect condition. The brass frame is all in good condition, with only
minor patina around the glass shade holders adding character to the piece. Rewired
and in full working order.
The height of the frame alone (without the chain) is 59 cm.
