Stilnovo lighting was founded in 1946 by Bruno Gatta in Milan, Italy. The company`s peak design period was between the 1950`s to the 1980`s during which it moved from a small family business to manufacturing on a larger scale. As part of this growth the company worked with a number of Italy’s leading designers, including Danilo & Corrado Aroldi, Gaetano Sciolari, Alberto Fraser, Joe Colombo and Ettore Sottsass.
Stilnovo was exemplary in developing design beyond function by combining new materials to produce novel forms and textures. Stilnovo is also known for it`s well executed organic lines. Many of Stilnovo`s pieces, especially their 1960`s floor lamps, are rare and highly sought after.
In March 2013 Maximum Anselmi, CEO of Stilnovo, announced the relaunch of Stilnovo.
While Stilnovo presents with a new look, products will continue to be ‘Made in Italy’ and there will be the re-release of a few iconic pieces.
