Gold nesting tables, gold plated gilt frames with glass tops by Pierre Vandel, 1970`s ca, French.

This set of tables have been gently cleaned respecting the vintage patina and they are ready to use.

With their geometric sculptural forms this set of tables attributed to Pierre Vandel are interesting as well as practical.
The angular themes, repeated hexagonal details and golden tone keep the Modernist design elegant & chic.

They would suit a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Industrial or Contemporary.

Each frame is divided into its core parts in the Constructivist manner. The legs are two flat planes of half hexagonal shapes positioned at right angles. The edges of these flat planes are finished on an angle repeating the geometric theme.

At the top, the legs are held together by a frame of gold plated tubing which has a rectangular profile. There is a hexagonal portion at each corner of the frame where the clear glass top sits. This is a subtle details which uniforms the design.

The bottom of the legs are held together with a 3 sided frame on the large & medium rectangular tables. The square smaller table does not have this lower frame but instead a stretcher. The decorative hexagonal form is repeated at the junction of the legs & lower frame/stretcher.

When stacked together these tables make a particularly interesting shape, flush at the front. All 3 tables have the same depth.

Each glass top is the original vintage one, and is securely held in place as the planes of the legs rise above the top frame. The quality clear glass has a thickness of 5 mm. At the corners the glass top is cut at a diagonal; this contributes to the secure structure as well as repeating the angular shapes. The glass tops are easily removable for cleaning & transport.

These vintage nesting tables are in very good condition. The frames are sound & strong. The gold plated gilt is in good condition with minor rubbing in a few tiny places, such as the top corner edges, and a few marks in line with age & wear. The original vintage glass tops are all in very good condition with no chips or cracks.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. The glass tops would be removed and wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frames would have bubble wrap and an outer layer of card if necessary. These tables could fit easily in a box for safe shipping.
