Pair of vintage sculptural armchairs in the manner of Saporiti. This pair of armchairs bought in Rome are from the 1950`s and an elegant combination of glamour & function. The 1950`s organic curving lines of the frame, especially the arms & back, create the `lounge` feeling of the period. The original vintage brass spindle legs finish at the bottom in an elegant pod shape, and are in very good condition with a warm patina in line with age. The clever design gives each armchair light & delicate proportions but at the same time they are very comfortable with a wide & deep seat. Very solid frames in excellent condition. The quality fabric upholstery is the original which is a combination of lace print on the front and stripes on the back. Nice detail on the backs where each armchair is finished with solid brass studs emphasizing the sculptural shape and matching the legs. The upholstery is in very good condition with no rips or cuts and ready to use as is, or ideal for reupholstering. They sell together. This price is for the pair.
