This vintage floor lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the antique patina. It is newly rewired & earthed with antique gold silk cable, new copper lamp holder, new cord gold dimmer switch, new black plug & is ready to use. This lamp is compatible with other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. Light bulb included.
This Art Deco torchiere floor lamp has a Neoclassical form, particularly elegant with the simplicity emphasizing the different shapes. The form is enhanced with the combination of luxury materials: copper plated brass, silver mirrored & glass tubular detailing.
The unique combination of Modernism, traditional form & luxury materials, make this vintage floor lamp a sculptural addition to a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Traditional, Industrial or Contemporary.
The frame has three main components: the base, column & shade.
The circular plinth base has the original vintage mirror, highlighted by a copper plated brass the trim of the base. The base
is weighted and stable.
At the centre of the base rises the central column trimed in copper at the base. The column consists of an internal copper pipe surrounded by 10 slender tubes of polished clear glass. There is another copper metal cylinder brake leading to the copper
torchiere.
The socket, in a conical shape, has the original switch fully working. This lamp can be switched on & off either from this top switch or the dimmer newly fitted on the cord.
A circular removable Lucite shade sits on top of the torchiere holder. The outside surface has a frosted finish while the inside is polished. It screws to the earthed copper metal lamp holder by a copper metal ring both are new. A second copper metal ring is supplied so a traditional shade could be an alternative.
The translucent shade allows the lamp to be used also as diffuse room light, and not only as a traditional uplighter.
This lamp carries one standard big screw E 27 light bulb up to 150 Watts. At present fitted & photographed with a traditional clear light bulb of 40 Watts, but it could take any other type of E 27 bulbs for a different look.
This vintage floor lamp is in very good condition and sound construction. The copper plated finish on the brass has some marks and rubbing to in line with age. The 10 glass tubes of the main column are all in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The quality mirrored surface at the base is the original with minor superficial marks in line with age & wear but no chips. The Lucite shade is in very good condition with no scratches and only minor marks in line with age.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the shade would be wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The base would also be wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. Together these pieces could be boxed, safe for posting or shipping with a courier.
