Antique Birdcage brass pendant light, 1900`s ca, France. This is a very unique and decorative item. Quality thick antique brass wire frame cage with original patina which has been converted in the early 20th Century into a pendant light with a hand blown clear glass shade in the shape of a flower. The cage has a sliding door, two brass cup feeders and a solid brass base which can be removed to focus the light directly down. Inside the shade there is a standard big bayonet light bulb up to 60 Watts. The top of the frame finishes in wood. The decorative original brass ceiling cup finishes the frame at the top and can be adjusted. The total height of the pendant light can be lengthened or shortened by altering the chain. In very good condition with age related patina giving character. The flower glass shade is removable and is in perfect condition without chips or cracks. Rewired and in working order.
