Brannam Pottery Barnstable, Devon, was founded by Thomas Brannam in 1847. Originally producing tiles & pipes, the company shifted to homewares. Thomasīs son Charles
Hubert Brannam (1855-1937) is the most valued of the designers. By the end of the 1800`s the company`s pieces known as Royal Barum Ware were selling in London when they were
patronised by the crowned heads of Europe, including Queen
Victoria. Brannam
pottery is widely collected and is marked `C H Brannam`, `Castle`, `Barum` or `Barnstaple`. The company closed in 2005 making these pieces very collectible especially large items like this vase.
