Coro vintage sweater pin of a Knave, vermeil gold gilt sterling silver, Adolph Katz, 1950`s USA.

The Knave is attached by chains to his sword-pierced heart. This double pin has an applied tag mark stamped Coro Craft Sterling. Featured on page 120 Fun Jewelry. Gift box included.

The Knave measures H: 6 cm, W: 4.7 cm D: 1.5 cm. The length of the shortest chain is 16 cm.

Vermeil is sterling silver coated with gold. To be considered vermeil, the gold must be at least 10 carat (42%) and be at least 2.5 micrometres thick. Vermeil was used in the 1940`s when resources were limited and this is part of it`s appeal to collectors.

Adolph Katz was design director at Coro from 1924 and made major contributions to the company`s success in particular Jelly Bellies & Duettes.
