Edward Wormley brass coffee table (in the style of) with onyx inserts, 1960`s ca American.

This coffee table has been gently cleaned respecting the vintage patina; it is ready to use.

At the focal point are the three square polished onyx tops set in a solid brass frame. Together the materials and the design, uniquely narrow with Minimalist detailing work for an elegant and surprising `light` looking table. It has many features of the designs by Edward Wormley who is the attributed designer.

This table would suit a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Modernist, Hollywood Regency, Brutualist,  70`s Glamour,  Minimalist , Industrial or Contemporary. W ith it`s unique proportions it could also work as a low console table ideal for behind a sofa or under a window.

This design makes use of the square theme which is repeated in the onyx tops, the  square profile of the tubular frame and the tops & bottoms of the legs which are finished with a square cap & square plinth respectively.

The three original onyx tops are set inside a tubular brass frame. The tubular frame has a square profile  3 cm X 3 cm. The brass framed top also has 2 divisions running in the middle to divide up the onyx and keep the look light.

Running underneath the top there is a decorative level of brass tubing which adds to this sense of lightness and adds reflection. This band of tubing reinforces the stability of the frame.

The legs are are of the same brass tubing. Each leg intersects the frame of the top at which point there is a decorative brass cap finishing the leg. At the bottom of the leg there is a similar square plinth.

Looking beneath the table, the onyx slabs are supported by copper rods.

The frame is polished brass and has age related patina as expected. The frame is sturdy & stable with no damage. The original stoppers are all present. The onyx tops are in good condition with no chips. It has veining typical for the stone one which runs along the centre of a slap, this does not go the depth of the stone and there is not a crack.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. The onyx top would be removed and wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frame would have bubble wrap and an outer layer of card if necessary. This table could fit easily in a box for safe shipping.

Each onyx portion has the following dimensions:
Height: 43 cm
Width: 43 cm
Depth: 2 cm
