This elegant vintage Modernist shaped pendant has been hand turned in solid brass. The outer surface of the shade is in polished lacquered brass, while the inside has a brushed texture to diffuse the light reflection. Inside the shade covering the light bulb there is a removable anti-glare ring also made of brass. In addition to the shade the composition consists of a brass ceiling cap, a the top end of the cable, to cover the electric mains to the ceiling; a solid brass counterweight that balances the height of the pendant; and a u-shape brass hook (to screw to the ceiling) to position the shade in the room, enabling the shade to hang vertically from it. A re-enforced gold silk cable runs through each of these elements on the way to the pendant shade. This is an adaptable light because the drop of the pendant can be varied by adjusting the counterweight and securing at the u-shape hook. T
his piece is ideal over a dining table, breakfast bar, or armchair for both diffused light & focused light.
Although still in production today, t
his pendant is an original 1970`s piece by German maker Florian Schulz which makes it rather valuable. Takes one standard big screw (E27) light bulb up to 100 Watts. Photographed here with a clear light bulb but could take other bulbs for a different look or function like a spot light on a table. Newly rewired, in full working order and ready to use. The entire piece folds nicely into a box for easy transport. In very good condition with a warm aged patina on the brass.
The total length of the cable is 4.8 m.
