HAR White Chinaman & Dragon Bracelet, 1960, New York. This bracelet consists of four pagoda-inspired white antiqued
tone panels. The first panel features an applied coolie hat. Next is an
imitation ivory face, his collar embellished with applied flowers and ‘aurora
borealis’ rhinestones. Adjacent to that panel is a beautiful gold coloured
dragon carved with fine detail. The dragon, like the hat on the first panel is
surrounded by three prong-set imitation jade cabochons. Finally, the last panel
boasts a gorgeous piece of amorphous imitation white jade with dark green
marbling. Best of all, each panel is adorned with various foliate carvings and
tiny ‘aurora borealis’ rhinestones. The nesting box clasp is artfully adorned
with small leaf and flower carving. The white enamelled metal has fine detail
and is in excellent condition with an antiqued wash that allows the highly
textured metal to shine through. There is a small safety chain with attached spring-ring
clasp for extra security. Stamped "©HAR" the mark granted on 1 May
1960. Very good vintage condition.
