Henri Bernard Goetz (1909-1989) was a French American Surrealist painter and engraver. He is known for his artwork, as well as for inventing the Carborundum printmaking process in the 1960`s, citing a lack of patience and methodical ways.
Goetz created many abstract prints using this method. Joan Miro also employed this technique in his work. Since then, it has been used by printmakers around the world.  Goetz`s work is represented in more than 100 galleries worldwide.
