Jean Claude Mahey dining table, brass & beige lacquer, 1970`s ca, France.
This elegant 1970`s vintage dining table is in the Art Deco style, reinterpreted in the fashionable materials of the 70`s: brass & lacquer. The geometrical form is architectural with the Neoclassical `frieze-like` trim in polished brass and column inspired base. Together the combination creates a strong & cool statement well suited for a range of interior design schemes such as Modernist, Minimalist, Hollywood Regency or Industrial. This table has good large proportions and could sit up to eight people.
The large rectangular Minimal lacquered top is trimmed all around with brass. This top securely sits on 2 pedestal legs of concentric bi-banding square section brass with a central beige lacquered plate in the Art Deco style. The underside has two stretchers of brass connecting the legs which adds to the design and stability.
The frame is structurally sound and the lacquer finish on the legs is excellent. The top beige lacquer finish is in very good condition with a uniform colour & gloss, no damages or marks, with only a light surface patina on the lacquer in line with age. The brass finish is also in very good condition with only tiny signs of wear on the legs.
This table could be used also as a desk (featured on this website as item 10757).
Packing is offered free of charge. The top is removable and could easily be unscrewed from the legs if needed. All the pieces would be bubble wrapped with a final layer of either cellophane or card.
The legs are 120 cm apart and each has a depth of 56 cm.
