Large flush light in brass & crystal glass by Hillebrand Lighting, 1970`s ca, German.
Thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired, earthed, in full working order & ready to install. Light bulbs included.
This vintage flush ceiling light is an elegant Modernist design with a Neo-classical influence. The
styling & materials make this piece timeless and well suited for a range of interiors
such as
Art Deco, Modernist, Hollywood Regency, Minimalist, 1970`s Glamour, Contemporary or Traditional.
This particularly large light, by quality German manufacturer Hillebrand, was designed to work as either a ceiling or wall light hung vertically.
The removable clear crystal shade screws in the centre to a circular solid
brass base.
The quality crystal shade has an Art deco influence, with a textured sunburst pattern.
On the external side, the glass surface has a smooth gloss finish with
undulating ripples radiating from the centre. Moving outwards the ripples double in a 7 cm portion along the edge, thereby creating more texture & depth. The border is also undulated following the radial pattern which further adds to the sense of movement.
Inside the crystal shade has a layer of sparkling glass shards creating texture and reflecting light. The textured glass alongside the polished brass base creates beautiful reflections when the light is on & off.
The removable clear crystal shade is screwed to the base through a thread fitted in the centre of the brass base. This is finished with a solid polished brass decorative plate & finial. The glass shade sits securely in place and is easily removed to gain access to change the light bulbs
On the back of the round base there are 3 holes to screw the light to the wall or ceiling.
Carries 4 standard large screw light bulbs (E27) up to 60 Watts each. At present fitted & photographed with clear Golf light bulbs of 25 Watts. These are included in this price.
Both the shade & base are in very good condition. The brass has the original clear lacquer; there is some patina in line with age.
Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport the shade will be removed & bubble wrapped individually. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for shipping.
