Maison Bagues (in the style of) large pair of side tables brass & smoked glass, 1970`s French.

This pair of tables have been gently cleaned respecting the vintage patina; they are ready to use.

The Neoclassical & Modernist features executed in solid polished brass suggest these tables could be from the French design company Maison Bagues. The proportions & detailed legs create a pared-down Neoclassical look.

Elegant in design & materials these tables are also very practical. It is particularly rare to find a tall set like this. They would suit for a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Modernist, Minimalist, Industrial, Traditional or Contemporary.

Structurally each table has a brass square frame top within which sits a glass top.

From the top run four distinctive column legs with decorative fluting. The legs have horizontal banding at the junction of the shelf and again at the bottom. The leg is finished to a point & pod. The shelf is a minimalist rack; square sides making a frame and four tubular sections within this. The shelf is simple keeping the design Modern and looking `light`. The shelf also contributes to the stability of the frame.

The glass tops are 6 mm thick and in a shade of brown, toughened glass stamped BS 6206. The glass sits protected inside the frame and on a brass horizontal ledge with black padding original to the piece. The glass surfaces are removable for cleaning & transport.

This pair of vintage side table are in very good condition. The glass tops are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips and only minor superficial wear in line with age. The original clear lacquer is present on the brass frames. There is some patina on the brass in line with age and adds character.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. The glass tops would be removed and wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frames would have bubble wrap and an outer layer of card if necessary. These tables could fit easily and safely in boxes for shipping & export.

This pair of side tables sell together and the price is for the set.

At Roomscape we have in stock for sale a pair of matching complementary shorter side tables, one with shelf, one with nest, all 4 tables are featured on this site together as item #10945.
