Maison Bagues wall lights, quality bronze casting with gold plated gilt, 1940`s ca, French.
Both lights thoroughly cleaned respecting the antique patina. Newly rewired & earthed, new fitted brass & porcelain lamp holders. Both lights are in full working order & ready to install. Light bulbs included. It is possible to install this light in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. It can be used with a dimmer.
These quality cast wall lights have a pared down Neo Classical style. There is subtle attention to detail such as the textured bamboo-like base and gentle curving arm. These are features of the designs of Parisian Maison Bagues, the attributed manufacturer. With these features they would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Traditional, or Contemporary.
Each frame is composed of a cartouche base with softened corners for a modified traditional design. From this each has two arms, gently curving finishing with a bobeche with floral design & the lamp holder. At the bottom the base is finished with a stepped pattern similar to the floral design terminating to a decorative point.
At the back of the base, each light has a horizontal bracket to attach to the wall. This slides onto a gold tone plate with 2 holes to screw to the wall. These brackets are supplied with the lights.
Each wall light carries one standard small screw light bulb E14 up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted with Candle Clear light bulbs of 18 Watts, as photographed, which are included in the price. They can take any other E14 lightbulb shapes for a different look.
Each light is finished with a new black silk lampshade, lined in gold metallic and edged with a black fabric trim. These lampshades clip onto the candle shaped light bulbs.
The quality frame is in excellent condition with a warm antique patina in line with age. The lampshades are new and in excellent condition.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the lamp shades would be removed and individually wrapped as would the bronze bases. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for posting.
