It is possible to install these lights in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. They can be used with a dimmer.
These quality cast bronze wall lights have a pared down Chinoiserie style. There is subtle attention to detail such as the textured bamboo-like base and gentle curving arm. These are features of the designs of Parisian Maison Bagues, the attributed manufacturer.
Based on the Neoclassical form with oriental detailing, the design is unique almost Regency in style. With these features they would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Traditional, or Contemporary.
Each frame is composed of a cartouche base with exaggerated corners to give an Oriental style. From this, there is a stepped plinth to a bamboo-like casting which holds the arm leading to the lamp holder. This arm curves outwards, the form of which is enhanced with decorative scrolling and a cut out in the centre of the arm. At the end, there is a round bobeche in bronze, and a decorative bronze scalloped cover to the lamp holder. Inside, there is a new brass lamp holder with porcelain finishing, keeping with the antique look.
At the back of the base, each light has a removable brass metal banding which is attached to the front side of the base with decorative bronze decorative round screwed bearings. This metal banding slides onto a round gilt metal bracket to attach these lights to the wall. These brackets are supplied with the lights.
Each wall light carries one standard small screw light bulb E14 up to 40 Watts each. At present fitted with Candle Clear light bulbs of 25 Watts, as photographed, which are included in the price.
Each light is finished with a new black silk lampshade, lined in gold metallic and edged with a black fabric trim. These lampshades clip onto the candle shaped light bulbs.
The quality frame is in excellent condition with a warm antique patina in line with age. The lampshades are new and in excellent condition.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the lamp shades would be removed and individually wrapped as would the bronze bases. Together these pieces would fit nicely into a box for posting.
