Maison Charles lamp, gold gilt bronze, 1970`s ca, France. Attractive and quite rare model of this classic Maison Charles design, where the base consists of a gold gilt bronze plinth, a cut crystal cube with a gold gilt urn on top containing a palm. This large size vintage Maison Charles palm tree lamp has a quality bronze casting with lots of detail and which has a textured gilt finish. This antique finish has beautifully got more character with age. The lamp carries the original gold metallic lamp shade. This screws to a brass frame that is telescopic, allowing it to be made taller or shorter. The lamp frame is topped with a decorative gold gilt pine cone finial. Carries 3 standard small screw light bulbs up to 40 Watts each. There is a switch on the cable. Very good vintage condition with a nice patina in line with age adding character. The shade is in good condition with only a tiny restoration (see image). Newly rewired and in full working order.
The dimensions of the base only (without the lamp shade) Height: 90 cm, Width: 21 cm, Depth: 21 cm.
