Maison Jansen brass lamp of lotus flowers, 1970`s ca, French.
This vintage lamp has been thoroughly cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. Newly rewired, earthed and fully working with a new black cable switch, golden silk cable & new black plug. Light bulbs included. It is possible to use this light in other countries although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. It can be used with a dimmer.
This decorative & sculptural lamp, attributed to Maison Jansen, is a playful 70`s take on the Japanese Ikebana. Well suited for this minimal form, the heat treated brass patina has been worked to a high quality by a skilled craftsman.
This sculptural piece would be perfect on a console, sideboard, side tables, to create a decorative focal point where the form could be appreciated. The unique combination of Modernism & Naturalism, together with the use of luxury materials, make this lamp a fun addition to a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Traditional or Contemporary.
The attention grabbing 3 brass flowers are made up of 3 layers of petals each, some of which are raised to add depth. Each flower sits on its own gold lacquered metal stem, gracefully stepped in height. Inside each flower there is lamp holder with a removable fluted solid brass cover suggesting the stamen of the flower.
The square base works as a plynth and is topped with a dark brown acrylic cover with a high polish finish. There is a band of polished chrome wrapping around the base. Underneath there is felt padding for protection.To gain access into the base there are 4 screws finished with brass decorative gilt domed nuts.
Takes 3 standard small screw light bulbs E14 up to 40 Watts each. Presently fitted and photographed with Crown Gold golf shaped light bulbs of 25 Watts, which are available in most electrical shops & on the internet. These light bulbs are included in this price. Alternatively it is possible to use any other E14 light bulb shapes for a different look, such as clear Pygmy (as photographed).
This vintage table lamp is all in very good condition with the original antique patina on the surfaces in line with age. All the brass pedals are present on the flowers.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the entire piece can be packed with layers of foam & bubble wrap and boxed, ideal for shipping with a courier.
