Maison Jansen brass two tier display octagonal coffee table, with mirrored shelf, 1970`s ca, French. Later research on the internet suggests this table might be by  Jacques Quinet.

Thoroughly cleaned respecting the vintage patina and ready to use.

This generous size octagonal vintage display coffee table was bought in a home in France and is attributed to Maison Jansen. It has an open mirrored shelf which works as a display area.  This Jansen display coffee table in an octagonal shape is quite rare compared with the usual vintage display tables often found.

The Neoclassical solid brass octagonal frame has rational proportions and a sequence in the design that creates movement & depth.  Many quality details are present both in the frame & glass.

The frame is composed by 2 horizontal octagonal square section solid brass portions which are joined together vertically by four pillars. In these four places, each pillar is composed by 2 vertical solid brass square sections columns joined by a decorative detail that covers the angle where the frame turns. This triangle shaped  detailing is subtly repeated in each corner of the frame either at the top of bottom.
The four supporting parts of the frame alternate with 4 empty spaces on the frame where the top portion continues.

Set on a recessed black lacquered base, this table appears to float.

Both glass surfaces are the original vintage and of great quality, the top clear glass with a thickness of 10 mm.  The bottom shelf is in silver mirror which adds depth & additional metallic reflection.

All the glass surfaces are in very good condition with no chips or damages and only minor superficial wear in line with age. The solid brass frame has a great warm antique gold tone, with the original lacquer present. It is in very good condition with minor patina and wear on the brass surfaces in line with age.

Packing is offered free of charge. For safe transport the glass tops could be removed and wrapped in bubble wrap with an outer layer of card. The brass frame would be wrapped in bubble wrap & an outer layer of card.

Additional dimensions:
The internal display area (between mirrored shelf & glass top) has a Height of 16 cm.
Glass top is 10 mm
