Malachite coffee table paint effect with brass details by Belgo Chrome, 1980`s ca, Belgian.

This coffee table has been gently cleaned respecting the vintage patina. It is ready to use.

In the 1980`s malachite furniture and malachite effect was combined with metals like brass for a Neoclassical look. Many designs by Piero Fornasetti and Karl Springer included these features. This vintage coffee table is in the style of these designers however this one was produced by Belgian manufacturer Belgo Chrome.

The look is classical with a playful & light modern touch. The proportions & column legs are further Neoclassical references. The combination of Malachite colour & brass is luxurious & elegant.

This coffee table would complement a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Traditional, Hollywood Regency, Industrial and Contemporary.

The rectangular top of the metal frame has a faux painted malachite effect. There is a thick solid polished brass inner trim framing the rectangular clear glass top. The removable glass top sits inside the frame, resting on a continuous ridge which also has the malachite effect.

The 4 legs are column shaped also with the malachite effect. Like a column, the legs have a solid brass `capital` at the top, and a solid brass `pedestal` at the bottom. At the junction of the stretcher the brass detail is repeated.

The solid polished brass stretcher with tubular profile adds stability and is incorporated adding proportion & volume to the design.

The glass is the original vintage, of great quality at 6 mm, and with a thin bevelled edge that adds depth & reflections to the frame.

This vintage coffee table is in very good condition & stable. The glass top is in very good condition with no chips or damages. The original vintage clear lacquer is present on the brass. The painted surfaces are in very good condition with minor rubbing to the paint effect in line with age.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. The glass top would be removed and wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frame would have bubble wrap and an outer layer of card if necessary.
