Milo Baughman brass coffee table , a modular coffee table or two side tables in solid brass & glass, 1970`s ca, USA.
Playfully this vintage modernist coffee table can be displayed interlocking or side by side to make one large coffee table or as individual side tables. Both the interlocking concept and finishing details are characteristic of the work of Milo Baughman who is attributed as the designer. Together or separated these tables are a generous size and offer flexibility making them perfect for a large sitting room.
Each table has an elegant thick quality solid brass frame detailed in each corner with a small ‘cube` shape. The brass legs follow a continuous and fluent design with a geometric Neoclassical influence. In the square table they are connected on two sides, while the legs of the `L` shaped table are connected on four sides. On the underside each table has tiny dome-shaped solid brass feet, creating depth and elevating the tables from the floor. The two original brown smoked glass tops sit within the frames on small cylinder brass supports.
The solid brass frame has the original lacquer with age related patina. This compliments the colour of the glass with its warm golden shiny effect. All the brass supports & feet are present. The glass tops are both in excellent condition and are removable for transport. These tables sell together and the price is for the pair.
Each table is 41 cm x 89 cm x 89 cm. There are two tables with these dimensions.
The indentation of the second table is: 46 cm.
