Milo Baughman nesting tables, set of 3, gold plated gilt with smoked glass tops, 1970`s American.

This nest of 3 tables has been thoroughly cleaned respecting the antique patina; they are ready to use.

This set of nesting tables attributed to Milo Baughman, have a clean & architectural design with the gold plated tubular frames & smoked glass tops. When all 3 tables are positioned together, inside each other, the result is an interesting stacking with all 3 tables having the same depth.

The geometric design is in the Constructivist manner of the period. Practical & elegant this set would suit a range of interior schemes such as Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Traditional, Industrial or Contemporary.

Structurally these tables have a slender gold-plated gilt tubular frame with a square profile of 8 mm. Each top is a rectangle as are the left & right sides which make up the legs. The tubing making up the legs rises slightly above the top frame to securely hold the glass tops in place. The tubing is finished bluntly with the square profile; the result is both structural & decorative. The design is kept Minimal with no stretcher at the back, this also allows the tables to stack flush at the front & back.

Inside the rectangular frames sit the clear glass tops in a shade of brown, with a thickness of 6 mm. Each is cut with a diagonal in the corner to sit securely within the frame. This shape also emphasizes the decorative corner. All the original clear rubber pads are present holding the glass tops in place. The glass tops can be removed for cleaning & transport.

These 3 tables are all in very good condition. The frames are sound & strong, there is no structural damage. The original gold plated gilt finish is present on the surface of the frames with some rubbing such as the legs in line with age. The original vintage 3 glass tops are in very good condition with no chips or cracks and only minor superficial wear.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the tops would be wrapped individually in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. The frames would be bubble wrapped and if necessary an out of layer of card. These tables could fit safely in a box and easily posted & exported.
