These dining chairs were designed by Niels Jørgen Haugesen.
Niels Jørgen Haugesen was born in Denmark in 1936 and employed by Arne Jacobsen in 1966.
While working with Jacobsen, Haugesen was influenced by the curving shapes characteristic of Jacobsen`s work and this is a key feature of the `String Chair`.
In 1971, Haugesen set up his own design studio and began teaching at Denmark`s Design school in Copenhagen. Haugesen‘s designs have been well awarded and are included in The Danish Museum of Applied Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
We have another set of Danish dining chairs by another important Danish designer, Jens Risom.
