Tranekaer Furniture commenced production of furniture in 1974 in a former warehouse belonging to the estate of Tranekaer Castle. The original production of furniture made use of the end of grain mosaic for table tops.Today`s productions include a wide range of architect designed tables and chairs. The company has cooperated with international designers such as Van Den Berghe, Niels Jørgen Haugesen, Hans J. Wegner and Kurt Østervig. Since the the highest priority for the company has been top craftsmanship,Tranekaer Furniture is viewed by many as `an industrialized cabinet maker`s workshop` rather than a factory.
