Pair Art deco bookends brass sailing boats, 1930`s ca, French.
These items have been gently cleaned while respecting the vintage patina. They are ready to use.
These bookends are modern with their minimal form & elegant decoration. They would make a fun & practical addition to a range of interiors such as Art Deco,Traditional, Mid-century, Industrial or Contemporary.
Each bookend is made in solid polished brass, with a good weight, depicting a sailing boat. Quality casting and Art Deco references are present in the design, such as the curvy geometric pattern of the waves.
The rectangular L shaped bases under the boat sculpture are also in solid polished brass with an elegant angled plinth. The original vintage black felt is present underneath each base.
These bookends sell together and the price is for the pair. The books are for display only and not included in the sale.
Both bookends are in very good condition with no damages and only a light warm antique patina with minor marks in line with age & wear.
Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport each bookend would be wrapped separately in bubble wrap and an outer layer of card. These would be stacked together and boxed with loose fill packing nuts, safe for posting with a courier.
