This pair of console tables have been thoroughly cleaned respecting the original patina and are ready to use.
This pair of Neoclassical console tables dating from the late 1990`s were sourced together from a home in Florence, Italy. In this design, the Neoclassical form is maintained and pared-down to appreciate the pure materials: solid brass & glass. Bending & twisting, the legs of brass banding have a light ribbony appearance.
This elegant pair of console tables are ideal for a large sitting room or dining room. The clean lines would suit a range of interiors such as Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Minimalist, 1970`s Glamour or Contemporary.
Each frame is made of a solid brass ribbon-like band.
The frame has an upper & lower curved semilunar surface. The back of which is finished flat allowing this piece to stand flush & securely against the wall. These tables could also be freestanding. The lower surface stands directly on the floor to create a plinth. This base has the same depth as the top but a third shorter, creating the iconic Neoclassical plinth shape.
Joining the top surface with the bottom are 4 brass legs.
The contrast between the thick & thin widths emphasizes the bending & twisting legs. The result is a sense of elegance & clean movement.
Each console has 2 quality glass tops with a thickness of
8 mm. These are
removable. Each is painted black on the reverse side for a deep opaque black. The glass surfaces are inset within the brass frame. They are suspended from beneath on 2 solid brass stretchers which also
stabilize
the brass frame.
Both frames are sound and in very good condition.
These consoles sell together; the price is for the pair.
Packing is offered free of charge. The 4 glass tops would be removed, bubble wrapped separately and packed together in a box. The frames could be bubble wrapped with a final layer of stretch wrap.
