A pair of PVC pipe armchairs, 1970`s ca, England. PVC white colour `DURAFURN` pipe frames, very durable outdoors and fun indoors. Comfortable white vinyl sling seats. Very good condition with age related patina. Price is for a pair. A total of four chairs is available. PVC pipe is a plastic tubing traditionally used as plumbing.
This tradition of using structural elements as part of the design went mainstream in 1977 in Paris, with the design of the Pompidou Centre by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, where all the functional structural elements of the building were showing and colour coded.
