Trifari Jewels of India earrings, faux cabochon emerald earrings, with original maker`s tags, 1950`s ca USA. Each earring is domed-shaped with a green cabouchon at the center surrounded by swirls of red & blue prong set glass cabochons accentuated with textured gold-plate. The `Jewels of India` was the last design by the famous Trifari designer Alfred Philippe. This pair of vintage Trifari earrings have the original maker`s tag & price tag which includes the name `Istanbul`. Good condition, with working clips at the back which can be converted for pierced ears. Gift box included. These earrings by Trifari are featured in the �Collector`s Guide: Costume Jewellery� by Judith Miller which features a photo of Madonna wearings these earrings in the movie �Evita` (included in the last photograph).
