These Egyptian style lamps became popular and were produced in Europe from the late 1960`s, after the King Tutankhamun exhibitions in Paris, France in 1967, and Brussels, Belgium in 1970. In the north of Italy, prestigious porcelain & ceramic manufacturers such as S.V. Porcellane d`Arte di Sabadin Vittorio, Ronzan and Ahura made similar examples.

Although not signed, each lamp base is stamped on the back: `MADE IN ITALY`. These lamps have many of the quality design features of the Capodimonte Porcelain Pharaoh Tutankhamun figures of Vittorio Sabadin, the attributed designer & manufacturer.

Iconic and elegant these lamps would be a sculptural addition to a range of Interiors including Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, 70`s Glamour, Post-Modern or Contemporary.

At the focal point is a porcelain base depicting Tutankhamun`s death mask.

Each figure is individually quality cast with great attention to detail. Superbly hand painted & gilded, these lamps are unique with real 24k gold as the main base tone. Accents of colour can be found on the Nemes headdress (cobalt blue), face (cobalt blue & black), beard (white) & collar (black, light blue, coral & green).

The iconic cobra Uraeus & vulture are present.

The lamps are continuously gilded & decorated all round including the back, with accents of cobalt blue and  hieroglyphics symbols stamped, together with the `MADE IN ITALY` mark .

Rising from the top of the head there is a short polished brass column leading to the new brass lamp holder. This is inside a polished brass cover. The lamp holder has 2 brass screw rings to hold the lampshade in place.

These lamps carry 1 standard small screw light bulb (E14) up to 60 Watts. At present fitted & photographed with Candle Clear shaped light bulbs of 28 Watts. These are included in the price.  It is possible to use any other E14 bulbs.

Each lamp has been newly rewired with new materials. They have a new brass lampholder, gold tone silk cable, new black cord switch, and a new black plug (UK Plug up to 250V).

The vintage handmade Pagoda shades are present and included in the price. The shades have great quality metal frames that sit on removable supports that screw to the lampholders. They are made of silk fabric, in ivory & beige tones with an ivory tone fringe & trim on the outside with tassel detail on each corner. The shades are further lined in beige fabric.

Underneath the lamp bases are padded with new black felt to protect the furniture below.
