Unusual mirror illuminated in the form of a pair of John Lennon glasses, 1970`s ca, Italy. This large vintage wall mirror has two circular mirror silver surfaces bound together with quality solid brass rods in the form of a pair of glasses. In the place of the nose pieces are two lamps illuminating the mirror and playfully reflecting light. Each lamp holder attaches individually to the frame and can be adjusted up/down as well as rotated in different positions to create different looks. There is a
round Lucite diffuser on both sides which compliments the design and softens the light.
Each lamp holder carries one standard big screw light bulb up to 60 Watts.
On the back of each mirror there is a bracket with a hole to hang on the wall. The brackets are 94 cm a part. In very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks to the mirror. This mirror disassembles for easy transport.
The diameter of each round mirror surface is 74.5 cm.
This pair of glasses mirror is reminiscent of John Lennon who popularised the British National Health Service (NHS) style
metal
frames. Many photos show Lennon wearing the NHS 422CJ (while others show him with a perfect round eye shape with a ‘W’ bridge and some with nose pads on the bridge. Lennon`s most famous plastic sunglasses were mustard yellow.
