Large scale, high impact & highly unique this collection of 7 Putzler wall lights just in stock look straight from the set of Barbarella.
Intriguing sculptural glass shades such as these are a hallmark of the German manufacturer Peill & Putzler.
As the name suggests, Peill & Putzler was a merger of two prominent German glass makers.
Putzler, the older of the companies, dates back to 1869 while Peill & Son was established in 1903.
In 1947 the companies merged and went on to illuminate Germany`s Post War re-construction.
Peill & Putzler worked with important designers of the period. One such was Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900-1990) from the Bauhaus. Wagenfeld was known for his sinuous and minimalist designs of the 1950`s.
Putzler Lighting of the 70`s expressed the era`s fascination with the futuristic & sculptural globular forms using materials like highly polished metals & glass.
The Puztler factory closed in 1997 making stock limited and demand high.
