Vintage wrought iron bar stools with stainless steel seats, 1960`s ca, England.
This unique set of four handmade bar stools make a big impact in both style and craftsmanship. The iron work, hammered steel finish and dragon tail detailing are in the Arts and Crafts style. These same features were re-interpreted in the second part of the 20th Century, during the Brutalist period, as in this set of bar stools. These decorative stools would fit well in a traditional, Minimalist or Industrial decor.
Great craftsmanship and attention to detail has been used to create these stools. The stainless steel surface has an attractive hammered polished finish, and is decorated with brass details around the sides and a polished steel trim. The seats are on a tripod base which is bound together with a decorative banding in the centre. The three tubular iron rods continue from the bottom of the seat to a flat circular iron base on the floor. After reaching the base, they curve upwards finishing as sculpted dragon tails. The three dragon`s tails are bound by an iron rope twist which becomes the footrest to the stool. The combination is strong, decorative and very stable. The seats are very comfortable. All the four stools are in
very good vintage condition with the original patina to the steel & iron which adds to the character. They sell together and this price is for the set of four stools.
Diameter of the seat is: 31.5 cm.
Diameter of the base is: 40.5 cm.
The footrest is 26 cm height from the floor.
